We are no longer running a competitive team, but as of July 2023, we are running lessons at the Julie and Spencer Penrose Athletic Center at the Fountain Valley School. Lessons are 1m only (“low board”), and are learn-to-dive lessons geared toward complete beginners, intermediate-level divers, and high school divers, with emphasis on teaching solid fundamentals to anyone who just wants to try out diving to high school divers seeking to be superstars on their high school teams. Adults are welcome as well!
For the summer of 2023, lessons will be generally be offered on weekdays between 9:00 and 11:45 AM. However, as our summer schedule does vary, please check our club calendar for the most up-to-date information. We will update the calendar at the beginning of each week.
- * Lessons for athletes ages 12 and under are from 9:00-9:45 AM.
- * Lessons for athletes ages 13+ are from 10:00-10:45 AM.
- * Intermediate and advanced divers of all ages have the option to dive from 10:00-11:45 AM. Note: This option requires permission from the coaching staff.
- * 45-minute lessons are $20 each.
- * 1 hour and 45 minute lessons are $30 each.
If we have room, please follow the steps below.
Step 1: Prior to the first lesson, all divers must have current membership with the Amateur Athletic Union, affiliated with Colorado Springers Diving Club. Join the AAU by going to their web site at https://www.aausports.org/ and clicking on the “Membership / Join AAU” button in the top right-hand corner. The membership is good through the end of August. When you are filling out the registration form, you will be asked if you are a member of a club. Select yes, and then enter our club code, which is W38Y44. Please DO NOT skip this step. Divers need to appear on our club roster to be covered under our insurance policy.

If possible, please print out the waiver at home and bring it with you to the first lesson. If not, we will have copies for you to sign. However, high school divers under 18 who will be driving themselves to lessons should bring a copy, as it does require the signature of a parent/guardian.
Step 3: Make a payment. To keep things simple, and because we know that summer schedules vary, we are just doing a come when you can and pay by the lesson format. If possible, we prefer payment by Venmo (@njhdiver), but you can also pay with PayPal (@nicolehuber1306), checks, or cash. All payments must be made prior to each lesson.
